Congressman Paul on the Recent Swine Flu Scare

Thanks Congressman Ron Paul for this piece of common sense. We The People are real tired of this wag the dog game that the government plays.

Hemp is a documented, effective, 5,000 year old medicine that has zero cases of death other than murder by government, i.e. Peter McWilliams.

CannabisScience's Steve Kubby www.cannabisscience.com submitted a proposal to Secretary Janet Napolitano on how hemp can help in dealing with the swine and avian flu.

Tell President Obama to let science drive policy and end hemp prohibition now.

Give The White House Your Comments on Scientific Integrity & Hemp

President Barack Obama is again asking the American public for our comments. The last time we told him what we think we should do to solve our problems, end hemp prohibition and utilize the plant, he said he didn't know what that said about us.

Given that we don't care what that says about us as long as it is the truth, it is time again to TELL PRESIDENT OBAMA - LET OUR HEMP GO.

We've made nature illegal and wonder why we have a problem with the environment. Though hemp scrubs the air of excess CO2 as it grows, has a 6' root system that aerates soil, and can be easily grown in most environments it's still illegal.

We've made the peace pipe illegal and wonder why we have a problem with violence & war. Hemp is a natural plant that opens minds to greater, deeper solutions and promotes talking things through rather than fighting them out.

We've made hemp biofuel illegal to grow and wonder why we're on toxic energy. Hemp biofuel burns clean and hemp biomass can be used in many electric power plants.

We've made inexpensive hemp medicine illegal and wonder why Medicine, Inc. is one of the leading causes of death. The medical system is overworked. In 5,000 years of use, there is not one recorded death by hemp, other than murder by government.

We've made an easily renewable resource material, capable of making up to 50,000 products illegal and wonder why our economy is shattering. Presidents Washington and Jefferson were hemp farmers and Ben Franklin was a hemp paper merchant. Yet, we are slaves to toxic energy, building materials, paper making, etc.

The president says science will drive policy yet pretends not to know how many of our problems are caused by hemp prohibition. He is trying to solve things at the level of effect rather than dealing with the science, which leads to the cause issues of our problems. .

The science of hemp in undeniable and extensive. When Jack Herer wrote THE EMPEROR WEARS NO CLOTHES he documented extensively the many uses of hemp. When Chris Conrad wrote HEMP: LIFELINE TO THE FUTURE he wrote a how to manual for hemp use. More than a decade later, Richard M. Davis, founder and curator of the USA Hemp Museum tried to put his hemp exhibits in one book. He's working on volume 5 of his HEMP FOR VICTORY series.

PLEASE TELL PRESIDENT OBAMA TO LET SCIENCE DRIVE POLICY AND LOOK AT THE SCIENCE OF HEMP.

Here's the page and contact link. Happy, healthy hemp.

On March 9, 2009, the President issued a memorandum for the heads of executive departments and agencies on the subject of scientific integrity, stating that “science and the scientific process must inform and guide decisions of my Administration on a wide range of issues.”

http://www.whitehouse.gov/the_press_office/Fact-Sheet-on-Presidential-Memorandum-on-Scientific-Integrity/

"FACT SHEET ON PRESIDENTIAL MEMORANDUM ON SCIENTIFIC INTEGRITY

"Today, more than ever before, science holds the key to our survival as a planet and our security and prosperity as a nation. It’s time we once again put science at the top of our agenda and worked to restore America’s place as the world leader in science and technology." - President Barack Obama

  • Today, President Obama is signing a Presidential Memorandum on scientific integrity. This memorandum helps to implement one of the President’s key campaign commitments on science policy, which was to "restore scientific integrity in government decision making."
  • Science and technology are essential to achieving a broad range of national goals: driving economic growth and job creation; allowing Americans to live longer, healthier lives; developing clean sources of energy that reduce our dependence on foreign oil; protecting our environment for future generations of Americans; strengthening national and homeland security; and more.
  • Realizing the potential of science and technology to help achieve all of these goals requires that the Administration’s decisions about public policy be guided by the most accurate and objective scientific advice available. The public must be able to trust that advice, as well, and to be confident that public officials will not conceal or distort the scientific findings that are relevant to policy choices.
  • Accordingly, the President is assigning to the Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) the responsibility of ensuring the highest level of integrity in all aspects of the executive branch’s involvement with scientific and technological issues.
  • Within 120 days, the Director of OSTP must develop a strategy for ensuring that:

- The selection of scientists and technology professionals for science and technology positions in the executive branch is based on those individuals’ scientific and technological knowledge, credentials, and experience;

- Agencies make available to the public the scientific or technological findings or conclusions considered or relied upon in policy decisions;

- Agencies use scientific and technological information that has been subject to well-established scientific processes such as peer review; and

- Agencies have appropriate rules and procedures to ensure the integrity of the scientific process within the agency, including whistleblower protection."

HEMP FOR VICTORY:A GLOBAL WARMING SOLUTION

and

HEMP FOR VICTORY:THE WONDER HERB

In the webeo above Richard M. Davis, founder and curator of the USA Hemp Museum, www.hempmuseum.org discusses how to use hemp to address both global warming and our health care crisis in his books HEMP FOR VICTORY: A GLOBAL WARMING SOLUTION and HEMP FOR VICTORY: THE WONDER HERB.

Hemp has a long track record in its many grades, from pure industrial to medical to recreational and religious, of helping us solve our problems. Davis helps folks sort the truth from the lies.

Davis discusses in his first two books in his powerful new HEMP FOR VICTORY series which uses museum exhibits plus narrative, to explain how to use hemp to solve many of our problems like environment (hemp pulls the excess CO2 from the air), economy (hemp is the number one cash crop that motivates folks to exchange dollars for hemp products), health care (effective 5,000 year old hemp medicine can reduce the number of sick people) and other social issues. Free ebook copies of both books are available at www.hempmuseum.org

Senator Webb Introduces Bill to Overhaul America's Criminal Justice System

Press Release from the office of Senator Jim Webb, Virginia

Senator Webb Calls for Hearings into Upsurge in Piracy.

April 20, 2009 - Senator Webb sent letters to the Chairmen and Ranking Members of the Senate Committees on Foreign Relations (SFRC) and Armed Services (SASC), calling for hearings into the upsurge in piracy off the coast of Somalia. Webb has been outspoken about the need for forceful measures to reduce piracy and prevent the kind of incident experienced off the Somali Coast the weekend of April 18th.

"Piracy should not be tolerated. It is a violation of international law, and for centuries the use of force to stop it has been supported by virtually every nation," wrote Webb.

He proposed that the Committees address a number of issues, including the administration's efforts to bolster the authority of the transitional Somali government and greater international cooperation in reestablishing maritime security and freedom of the seas for all nations.

REQUEST FOR MEDICAL HEMP TESTIMONIES
FROM HARVARD'S DR. LESTER GRINSPOON

THE GENERAL IDEA

For as long as I can remember, the debate over cannabis has centered on whether it is harmful. I would like to focus instead on marijuana's uses and possible benefits. Some ten million Americans smoke marijuana regularly. Millions more use it occasionally. But why, exactly? I know that some people use marijuana as a medicine, while others use it simply to "party." But between these two poles are many other uses and effects that might best be described by words like enhancing, therapeutic, exploratory, expansive, and so on. The Uses of Marijuana will explore these various possibilities. I hope you will join me by writing about your experience.

Here are a few suggestions:

  • You could write a personal essay or contribute to our blog -- serious, whimsical, or some of each -- about the place of marijuana in your life, or why you use it, or what you especially enjoy about it.
  • Or you could cover the same ground in other ways: by exchanging a series of letters (or e-mails) with a friend and sending them on to us; by writing up a dialogue about marijuana with your spouse or partner; by sending sections from a journal; or perhaps even by keeping a journal for a few weeks and sending us some excerpts from it.
  • Or you might write up an interview with yourself on the subject of marijuana, or ask a friend to interview you; or send us something you have already written on this subject -- or any other writing about marijuana that you'd like us to be aware of.

  • THE FINE PRINT

Whether or not we can use your name, please identify who you are and how to contact you. And kindly provide at least four basic details: your age, your gender, your occupation, and what part of the country you live in. If you'd like to identify yourself further, please do.

Submissions to The Uses of Marijuana should be typed and easy to read. Longer contributions are fine, but whatever you send, please keep a copy. I hope to respond to all contributions within 2-3 weeks. If you have questions or comments about this project, I'll do my best to respond.

Please forward your submissions as soon as possible!

Obama, You're No Stranger to the Bong: An Open Letter to the President

Drew Cary and your ReasonTV for the webeo above.

Here's the text from the piece posted on Youtube.

"Thank you, President Obama, for keeping your campaign pledge to end raids on medical marijuana dispensaries that are legal under state laws in California and elsewhere.

Thank you for reversing an inhumane policy established by the Clinton administration and continued by the Bush administration.

Given the experience you and other elected officials have had with illegal drugs and your willingness to challenge the status quo, now is the time to reconsider decades of prohibitionist drug policies that have succeeded only in massively increasing the toll of human misery, violence, and hypocrisy. As with alcohol prohibition, the drug war intensifies and exacerbates every negative outcome it is ostensibly designed to combat.

President Obama, do the right thing and end the war on drugs.

    Hemp Science and Economics

Now that it's 4/20/09, it's time to revisit what President Barack Obama said about using hemp to empower our economy.

The President said he doesn't know what hemp being a popular question says about the on line audience.

What it says is that a lot of us support & consume hemp. We are part of the commerce that is the number one cash crop in this nation. Do a search on Twitter (Search at bottom of the home page) to see many folks are talking about hemp.

The internet's hemp supporters read and think. We research and vote. We're cool with the sacred knowledge of how to use technology to communicate. We've offered to pay hemp taxes. The feds would rather spend money putting us in jail than restoring our freedom to interact with a plant that has never killed anyone other than murder by government policy. We are a community of common sense.

The president said science would drive policy. WHAT!!! How is such a contradiction about hemp ‘science driving policy’? On what science did he make the decision that ending hemp prohibition would not be a good economic strategy? Giving big business a trillion dollars or so, while regular folks are loosing jobs, homes and retirements with no one to turn to for help is a good policy?

"Since Popular Mechanics deemed hemp a billion dollar crop in 1938, it must be a trillion dollar plus crop today" said Richard M. Davis in his upcoming book Vol 5. HEMP FOR VICTORY: THE TRILLION DOLLAR CROP. It is time to stop pretending not to know hemp can help us end our economic woes so we can enter an age of abundance.

The simple historic truth is that hemp motivates people to exchange dollars. Medicine, recreation, religion and other industrial uses for the hemp plant can keep dollars flowing fast.

The USA Hemp Museum's founder and curator, Richard M. Davis wrote in his book HEMP FOR VICTORY: A GLOBAL WARMING SOLUTION in the chapter Hempification, that if we make available only 10% of unused federal land, about 60 million acres, people could save themselves economically and environmentally (page 105 - gift ebook available at www.hempmuseum.org - hard copy at amazon). A hemp farm can be a prosperous experience for an entire community from farmers to happy children playing outside of their wonderful, strong non-toxic hemp homes.

It is time to step beyond illusions. Current hemp policy was established by folks who M. Scott Peck describes examples of in People of the Lie: The Hope for Healing Human Evil. Use the truth to correct all errors. Hemp prohibition is an error in need of correction.

We must stop wasting time. The ice caps are melting and hemp pulls excess CO2 as it grows, regardless of the source, helping create a healthy environment to experience our economy in. Regardless of the source of the excess CO2, energy pollution, industrial farming or carbon atoms from outer space, hemp is a powerful ally in our fight to reduce carbon levels quickly.

We need to be using hemp to heal the damage we've done to the earth. It was reported that in Chernobyl hemp was used to help clean the soil because it is an environmental biomass champion. Cleaning up the environment will reduce the strain on our health care system by reducing the number of sick people. Reducing the number of medical bankruptcies will reduce other negative economic situations. Delicious hemp foods can help stave off famine. Hemp’s up to six foot root system restores burnt soil that can be used for other crops too.

Hemp can also stimulate the economy by saving the government an estimated $77 billion ($44 billion in arrests and $33 billion in taxes) according to Harvard Economist Jeffrey Miron.

It is wrong that the will of the government supersedes the will of the people. Even the Governor of California said that he would like to support hemp, but cannot due to the federal government.

    What to do?

For more supporting documentation on the economics of hemp, please check out Harvard's Economist Jeffrey Miron. His book is Drug War Crimes: The Consequences of Prohibition and has details of his $77 billion figure about how much we could net.

Legalize hemp, tax recreational at 20%. Incorporate hemp deeper into our lifestyles.

Hold a series of town hall meetings to develop a modern hemp for victory strategy. Do it on line with a Skype type style. Openly discuss the information available on how hemp can help us save ourselves. Tell the president the results. Hemp was voted legal in 9 out of the 10 states where it was on the ballot. so the people are ready for the task at hand.

Visit the USA Hemp Museum. Talk with the museum’s founder and curator, Richard M. Davis, author of two books HEMP FOR VICTORY: A GLOBAL WARMING SOLUTION and HEMP FOR VICTORY: THE WONDER HERB that provide supporting documentation on how hemp can help in these fields. There are free ebook editions posted on the site until at least May 31, 2009 and more books coming in this dynamic series. Jack Herer and Chris & Mikki Conrad are heroes of Richard's who have also done extensive research in the field of ‘hemponomics.’

Steve Kubby, who recently began selling stock in Cannabis Science, Bill Maher, Woody Harrelson, Dana Beal and others could create a hemp council. The council can work with various parts of government (starting farms, processing companies and workers, hemp lifestyle designers, food industry, etc.). We can use the successful HEMP FOR VICTORY program to provide solutions.

Use technology to empower the people with hemp business tools. With the wise use of computers and other technology, many will be able to set up companies, find jobs and other opportunities, i.e. community based investors, to thrive in the Information Age. Anyone with access to soil can grow their way out of poverty.

Instructions should be on line at the Department of Agriculture. Government hemp business programs, from land prep through paying taxes, can put the feds in a primary payment position as the plant goes from the fields to the consumers.

The Lord has given us the keys out of Babylon in our technology. We can speak the same language through programs. The keys are cyber in the era of truthful information guiding policy. It’s up to us to use the information wisely.

Once all the science is on the table, we're confident that hemp prohibition will end.

We urge the President and others to take a look at the science of hemp and let science drive policy.

    H.R.1866

The USA Hemp Museum got this message from the great hemp activist, Dr. Jeri Rose.

"Richard, WE need to get EVERYONE who cares about planet earth to write to their Representative to support HR 1866. It simply allows those states that want to allow their farmers to grow industrial hemp to go ahead and let them.

Please write your Rep and email everyone you know and ask them to email everyone they know. This must become a nationwide avalanche to the House of Representatives."

Please contact your congressional representative and tell them to unconditionally support H.R. 1866, which is in support of industrial hemp.

One quick note. It's time to redefine "industrial" hemp. The term is from the last century when the government was demonizing the hemp plant, a divide and conquer technique. Have the industrial, recreational, medical and religious activists working against each other for attention, rather than working together to achieve a goal. Those days are numbered.

Consider that medicine, recreation and even some religions are also industries, and should be able to qualify for industrial hemp protection when the legislation passes.

When we get the text we'll post it. Contact your congressional representative and tell them to end hemp prohibition by unconditionally supporting H.R. 1866.

California Governor Would Like To Support Hemp

Richard M. Davis, founder and curator of the USA Hemp Museum recently wrote a letter to the Governor of California regarding ending hemp prohibition. (Richard's book are available for a short time as free ebook downloads on www.hempmuseum.org )

    The Governor's response is below.

"I recognize and am proud that California is a national and world leader in the production of high-quality agricultural commodities. Our state has a rich agricultural environment, and we must strive to protect and promote farming, ranching and agri-business in California, while preserving natural resources and protecting consumers.

Given these facts, I would like to support the expansion of a new agricultural commodity in this state. Unfortunately, I am very concerned about giving legitimate growers a false sense of security and a belief that production of “industrial hemp” is somehow a legal activity under federal law. "

Instead of fighting for the will of the people as stated in Prop. 215, the Terminator is afraid of the federal government. Oh well. At least we now have in writing that the governor is in favor of supporting "the expansion of a new agricultural commodity in this state."

Here's the letter that you can click on to read the original. I typed the text below in case you want to use a find move on the webpage or copy and paste the text.

    Ain't no stoppin us now.

    Office of the Governor

    March 24, 2009

    Mr. Richard Davis
    Los Angeles, California 90046

    Dear Mr. Davis,

Thank you for sharing your ideas with me about industrial hemp and how it could benefit our state.

I recognize and am proud that California is a national and world leader in the production of high-quality agricultural commodities.

Any person in the United States that wishes to grow cannabis plants for any purpose – including industrial purposes – must first obtain permission and register with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Failure to do so would be a violation of federal law and could subject an individual to criminal penalties. If you’d like a new law to be created that addresses this issue, you may wish to contact your representatives in the Legislature to share your ideas, comments and concerns. To find your representatives or for more information on legislative bills, please visit the Official California Legislative Information website at http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/.

Again, thank you for writing. An informed and engaged public is important for effective government in our Golden State.

    Sincerely

    Arnold Schwarzenegger
    Governor

HEMP FOR VICTORY: A GLOBAL WARMING SOLUTION is by Richard M. Davis, Founder & Curator, USA Hemp Museum, a private museum with a virtual wing.

The result of decades of research by the USA Hemp Museum's founder and curator, Richard M. Davis, this work presents a compelling case proving hemp’s ability to help solve the problem of global warming. The hard copy edition is available on amazon.com.

Why hemp? When used as bio fuel, hemp replaces toxic energy with clean, easily renewable energy. Whatever toxic energy can do, hemp can do better. Hemp biomass does not pollute while it’s powering everything that uses electrical current, including the power plant that produces the electrical current. Clean hemp bio fuel can be processed to run any engine, heat or cool any building, run any factory, and eliminate the pollution that comes from modern energy sources. Remove the cause, excess CO2, and the effect, global warming can at least be reduced, if not healed. Hemp is also a champion at scrubbing the air of excess CO2 gas as it grows.

“A state of international emergency has been declared by many of the top scientists in the world.” Davis said “To help save ourselves from the ravages of global warming, we must grow massive quantities of hemp all over the world to clean the air and provide bio fuel. Working together, crops can be bred for maximum earth healing affect. Markets can be coordinated. The impact of restoring the family farmers can help those who are not currently benefiting from our alleged booming economy.”

In addition to offering the who, what, when, where and how on solving the problem of global warming (page 7) other exhibits in the book include:

    · A Natural Energy Policy (page 76)
