Hemped Memorial Day

The Hemp Movement has lost many veterans over the decades and this Memorial Day we'd like to say thanks to three of them. Their dynamic contributions are too great to fit on one blog post so google their names and learn about the power of one.

Thank you. Rest in hemped joy. We miss you.

Kraz-Business Man By Luke Scarmazzo

It's a shame that Luke Scarmazzo, Rev. Eddy Lepp, Marc Emery and almost a million other people are in jail for interacting with the powerful hemp plant. These folks should be free to help implement the hemp solution in areas like medicine, the oil spill, the economy and key environmental issues.

We are legislated to death and it's up to us to end this madness and return to wisdom. Please do all that you can to end hemp prohibition so we can use this valuable plant to save ourselves.

For more information on how to use the hemp solution, please visit the USA Hemp Museum, www.hempmuseum.org.

Tell the President's Men - Use Hemp To Help Heal Deepwater Oil Spill

That hemp can help clean up the oil spill and shift us from toxic energy is a no-brainer. The President has called for ideas, yet pretends not to know how hemp can help us solve our problems. Below are a few ideas for how hemp can help with the oil spill followed by more information on the people who the President is calling on for solutions.

1.  Use hemp fabrics and fiber fluff to absorb surface oil and reign in slicks.

2.  Use hemp plastic, 10 times stronger than steel according to Henry Ford, to plug up the holes.  Hempcrete can be used to entomb the damaged pipe. A great work on plastics that is out of print but there is a copy at the USA Hemp Museum is from the series "Speaking of Plastics" THE STORY OF CELLULOSICS.

3. Shift to hemp biofuel and biomass, solar, algae, hydro, magnetic and other clean, safe and in some cases free energies.  Nature supplies us with all the energy we need in non toxic forms.  A touch of common sense can create a positive energy policy where oil spills and mining accidents are reduced based on lack of demand for toxic energy.

4. Use hemp foods to fill the upcoming hole in the food supply caused by a dramatic reduction in seafood production. Delicious, nutritious and easily renewable.

5.  Empower family farmers to grow hemp on unused federal land.  Hemp is an easily renewable, quickly growing crop with over 50,000 industrial, recreational, religious and medical uses.

6.  Use hemp's economic empowerment muscle to repair damage done to the economy by the oil spill and other contributing factors.

7.  Build a "Mastermind Alliance" of folks who know how to use hemp to help us solve our problems.

Share these ideas and others with the President's team of great minds charged with resolving this crisis.

The USA Hemp Museum has a mini museum for $250 that contains many samples of hemp products like those mentioned here, books and other hemp samples for educational presentations.  Richard M. Davis, the museum's founder and curator, sent President Obama a free mini museum last year, along with the three books in his HEMP FOR VICTORY series A GLOBAL WARMING SOLUTION, THE WONDER HERB and THE TRILLION DOLLAR CROP.  So far, no word back.

Hemp Once Grew Where Pentagon Now Stands

Hemp Once Grew Where Pentagon Now Stands

"Where generals now meet in war rooms, hemp plants once waved in the breeze. The Washington Post reports on the recently discovered “hemp diaries” of a government botanist, Lyster H. Dewey, who tended a USDA hemp farm that was eventually turned over to the War Department for the construction of the Pentagon:

So now, hempsters can claim that an important piece of their legacy lies in the rich Northern Virginia soil alongside a hugely significant symbol of the government that has so enraged and befuddled them over the years.

All thanks to Lyster Dewey."

Hypocrisy at the White House - The War On Drugs Continues For Now

Here's the White House report on their war on drugs.

Here's a couple of highlights.

1.  Page 11: "Eliminating high-potency indoor grow labs and marijuana cultivation on public lands." "Disrupting the criminal distribution of prescription medications for non-medicinal purposes."

Los Angeles Global Marijuana March - Part 2 - Saturday, May 8, 2010

Press Release - For Immediate Release

The 12th Annual Million Marijuana March will take place Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 12:00 Noon from the Corner of Adams and Crenshaw.

Joining us in this year's march will be the Wu-Tang Clan, appearing in a follow up performance during the activities that will take place in Leimert Park following the March.

The Global Marijuana March is a world wide event that takes place over the first two weekends in May.  Founded by Dana Beal in New York City, the Global Million Marijuana March takes place in over 300 Cities.  The Los Angeles Edition was started by the late great hemp activist Sister Somayah Kambui, founder of the Nigritian Kief Society and Crescent Alliance Self Help for Sickle Cell Project Hemp is Hep and Kwanzaa People of Color. Using hemp as a cornerstone in her treatment, Sister Somayah was able to double her life expectancy plus eight years while overcoming sickle cell and other health issues.

This year's event is co-sponsored by the Moorish Science Temple and for the very first time takes over two weekends.  We combine the issue of Marijuana and our right to use this sacred herb with supportive "innerattainment" designed to whet our thinking caps and intellectual dexterity.

This years March will stat at Adams and Crenshaw and proceed South bound on Crenshaw to Leimert Park where it will end in a Teach-in and Information giving event.  The famous Wu-Tang Clan with their supportive elements will grace the consciousness of Leimert with their presence.  For information and participation please call (33) 799-8409 or (626) 324-8378.
